Helping Hands
Greg & Jan Trometer
Greg and Jan Trometer each bring twenty-six years
of experience in local churches and Christian schools in New Jersey
and Illinois. Greg has a Bachelor of Science in Bible and Secondary Education from Maranatha Baptist Bible College. Jan
received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Mankato State University in Minnesota. Both are AACS
certified teachers. “Our philosophy of ministry is to inspire hope in each boy and a personal vision for developing his
God-given gifts as they relate to academics; to challenge him to dedicate these gifts and their development for future
service. We want to develop an academic program to strengthen character development with an emphasis on individual
responsibility. We want to help students improve basic study skills (active listening, thorough note taking, effective
reading, efficient study, and prepared test-taking) to break the cycle of academic frustration and failure.” Greg and
Jan had been faithfully serving with Bethel Baptist Church in Schaumburg, Illinois. They have a son, Greg, and a daughter,
Joy. Greg is heavily involved in his local church in Virginia. Joy and Dan Minton (and their daughter Abigail)
are just arriving in South Africa to serve as missionaries.
Mark & Donna Morgan
Mark and Donna have twenty-eight years of experience working with children and teens. They have two sons, Mark and John,
and a daughter, Amanda. All are active ministering in their local churches. Mark earned his Associate of Arts in Church
Ministries from Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown, WI. Mark and Donna have been heavily involved in ministry
as they have been workers and leaders in AWANA, Sunday School, teen groups, and camp ministries. Mark also founded Safari
Ministries in 1996 and since then has been organizing and teaching at sportsmen’s banquets, hunting and fishing seminars,
and Steak-n-Shoots to help sportsmen reach sportsmen with the Gospel. Donna brings great experience in food service and
teen work. (Those two things do go along well together!) Mark and Donna are coming from Farmington, Iowa where they
attended and ministered at First Baptist Church. “We are excited for the opportunity to develop relationships with the
boys and teach them about character and Christ. We particularly look forward to the opportunities to directly work with
the parents and help put the family back together.”
